Mahashivaratri is celebrated at Isha Institute of Inners sciences, Isha Yoga Center during the period of February/March of each year. The special nature of this particular day and the night of Mahashivratri lets people make use of the various forces of nature for our well-being. The celebrations of the same will begin at 5.40 pm with Sadhguru that is conducting the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana which is a unique process to cleanse the five elements of the body. This leads to complete health and wellbeing. This will be then followed by Guru Pooja at the Dhyanalinga to all the spiritual masters.
At the celebration grounds, the main nature of festivities begins with chanting done by Isha Brahmacharies of Nirvana Shatakam. This is nothing but a chant written by Adi Shankaracharya over a goo millennium ago. This is followed by none other than Sadhguru leading the audience through the several preparatory spiritual processes. At the stroke of midnight, the very own Sadhguru initiates the huge gathering into one powerful meditation which is the most awaited event of the entire night. Annadhanam (a free offering of food) that is prepared by the volunteers at Isha is later served to hundreds of thousands of people on this very, auspicious night. The celebrations then culminate at 6 am with a meditation by Sadhguru.
